If you’re shooting for a simple cover design using one or two spot colors or simple halftones, then screen printing on knit polyester will be your best bet. The method produces a clean, durable imprint and is most economical for a larger quantity of custom table covers.
If you’re aiming for a more complex design using 3 or more colors, or 4-color printed designs, try our DyeLux™ digital printing method. It prints directly onto white knit polyester and actually dyes the design right into its fibers.

Vector vs. Bitmap Art and Image Size for Table Covers
The normal image size on our table covers is 24" x 48". We can print larger when required, but there would be an additional charge. Many times we receive artwork in low-resolution .gif
files, often copied from websites, used for interoffice memos, or stationery. Bitmap art can have many file extensions such as .gif
, .tif
, .jpg
, .jpeg
, .psd
, and .eps
. Programs like Adobe Photoshop are typically used to create bitmap art.
While a low-resolution file may look fine on your monitor, problems occur when the image is enlarged to fit the size required for a table cover. Enlarging bitmap art (like a .gif file) even four times causes jagged edges, also known as “jaggies,” because the image is made of pixels that become more apparent when scaled up.
This is an extreme example, and bitmap art can still be used for large designs, but size and resolution are key. If you must send bitmap files, aim for at least 5" x 10" at 600 pixels per inch. This usually results in a file around 18MB (18,000KB), which is best uploaded via our FTP site. Please call us for login credentials.
Another method for creating artwork is vector art. In vector designs, objects are described as outlines rather than pixels. This allows the artwork to be scaled to any size without losing edge quality. Popular programs for creating vector art include Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, and FreeHand.
There’s no easy push-button conversion from bitmap to vector art. If you only have a bitmap file, we can redraw it for you (a fee applies). Once colored with PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors, vector files remain sharp and clean at any size. A full-size (24" x 48") vector file is usually only 2–4MB, making it easy to email. We hope this helps you achieve the best-looking table covers possible. If you have questions, please contact us.
